Jan applicants -- you should hear back MARCH 20th

Haris J passes along word GGD will sent out the notifications to January GGD applicants on 20 March!

For those that applied last month for the Jan deadline...

...expect to hear from GGD within the next two weeks.

Whether you get accepted or rejected, would you mind emailing me that they have let you know so I can share that GGD is releasing admissions info and people should be on the look out?

Funding?

I recently received a question from a prospective GGD applicant asking about funding deadlines and if it was better to apply for March 09 deadline then wait a year in hopes of receiving some money.

Unfortunately there are not that many funding options for GGD if you don't have one of the high profile scholarships (Rhodes etc) or funding from your government. GGD is a 'taught masters' programme which exists to help Oxford subsidise the cost of undergraduates and research graduates. As it is pretty low on the Oxford hierarchy it is very difficult if not impossible to get funding. In general it is rare for even research doctoral students to get funding.

I just had pay full price and rely on student loans. Now it it will be several years till I have enough money again to do more grad school.
